We put iKobo to the test
Our review of Ikobo.com online money transfer system was simple: After signing up for an account, we arranged for some funds to be placed in our account. Then we logged in to send the money, and clicked "Withdraw Funds". After we requested our cash, we received an e-mail within a few minutes stating that our iKard would be mailed out the next day.
True to their word, early the next morning, we received another e-mail stating that the funds and the iKard had been FedExed and were on the way. The next day, the iKard arrived as promised.
We were very impressed with their service, and rate this a very fast form of electronic funds transfer, even with the mailing times involved. From the moment we requested the cash transfer until the time when the money arrived, it was only about a 36 hour turnaround.
Keep in mind, we weren't transferring money from the United States to another country or vice versa, it was a domestic transfer so the mail process was fairly quick- obviously, it will take longer if you are sending money from say, Brazil to India. Your shipping times will vary, depending on where you live and what country you want to transfer money to or from.
Still, the iKobo site makes perfect sense for many businesses looking to expand into foreign markets that were previously inaccessible, and is also perfect for sending money between family and friends for emergency travel needs, holidays, and gifts, etc.
