If you are just looking for info on how to buy and sell, you won't need all the technical mumbo jumbo the book offers. So don't be deterred by all the perl code "hacks" at first... it still has lots of great information for non programmers (auction sellers and bidders alike) that you won't find anywhere else.
One caveat: we flat out disagree with a few of the tips in this book, thus our 4 out of 5 star rating. The most notable example: David Karp recommends copying (ctrl-c) and pasting (ctrl-v) stored blocks of text to speed up your feedback posting. We are all for the copy and paste method when it comes to positive feedback, but you should never, ever use CTRL-PASTE to post negative feedback as Karp recommends. Why? The chances of accidentally posting negative feedback are far too great if you do this. Plus, how many times will you actually need to post a negative comment? Very rarely. Block text copying is a great idea for positive feedback though, and we do it all the time! Bidlab Editor Hint: When you post negative feedback, type in your words manually. This gives you time to be certain of what you are saying, before you hit the send key and leave that little bit of bad karma floating around on ebay forevermore. It just might prevent you from getting a revenge negative too, especially if your posting was an error! Read the Amazon Editorial Review on our site. Read more about auction feedback here.
